Objetivo del régimen

Implementar efectivamente las pro visiones de artículo 15 y 8j de la Convención y los tres objetivos, específicamente para proteger el conocimiento tradicional y asegurar el reparto justo y equitativo de beneficios provenientes de la utilización (de los recursos genéticos, conocimiento tradicional asociado y sus derivados). Asegurar el respeto de todos los derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas y comunidades locales de sus recursos genéticos y conocimiento tradicional asociado en completo cumplimiento del consentimiento informado previo.
